Mobile-first asset management SaaS with QR tracking and AI assistance.
Nimbly is a mobile-first asset management SaaS built for Sri Lankan SMEs such as hospitals, hotels, schools, and manufacturers. It lets organizations register and manage equipment, generate QR labels, scan from any smartphone, and track service and warranty history. The platform also includes a unified AI chat experience for inventory search and assisted workflows.
SME teams were tracking equipment, warranties, and maintenance in scattered spreadsheets and ad-hoc notes, making it hard to find accurate history at the moment of need. Field staff needed a fast “scan and act” flow on mobile, not a desktop-heavy system. The product also needed multi-tenant org separation with roles and onboarding from day one, while staying deployable as a simple MVP.
We built a monorepo with a React + Vite PWA frontend and an Express API backed by MongoDB, sharing types and validation through a shared TypeScript package with Zod schemas. Authentication and user lifecycle were implemented with Clerk across the web app and API, including onboarding flows that create org/technician profiles. For operations, we implemented QR label generation and scanning flows, plus service/warranty record modules and dashboards, and packaged production deployment as a single Dockerized Node process serving both the API and SPA.
Delivered a working Phase 1 MVP with multi-tenant organization support, device inventory, QR labels and scanning, and service/warranty record tracking. Shipped an installable PWA experience suitable for smartphone-first workflows, including public QR scan target pages. Implemented a unified “Nimbly AI” chat route and an admin-managed provider-key setup, while keeping production deployment straightforward via a single-port Docker/Coolify setup.
