SignaraGFlow

Cloud HLS scheduling to stream videos on any Smart TV.

SignaraGFlow

Overview

We built signaragflow, a full-stack platform for organizations that need reliable video on in-store or in-venue Smart TVs — from supermarkets and shops to hospitals, hotels, and restaurants. Operators upload content, encode it to HLS, schedule playback per location and channel, and manage overlays from one admin console. Each screen opens a stable browser URL and receives dynamically generated live playlists that keep displays in sync.

Challenge

Venues across retail, hospitality, and healthcare often rely on USB sticks, manual file copies, or disconnected players that cannot stay aligned when schedules change. Teams need every Smart TV to join mid-loop at the correct moment, stay synchronized across locations, and switch content cleanly at time or slot boundaries. They also need stable URLs that do not break when operators update campaigns behind the scenes.

Approach

We implemented FFmpeg-based HLS encoding with immutable segments on cloud object storage behind a CDN, plus a Node.js scheduler that builds wall-clock playlist windows with monotonic media sequences and no future segments. Location-based routing resolves active schedules at request time, while HLS.js players use program-date-time sync and slot pre-fetch for gapless transitions. A React management UI covers uploads, slot-based scheduling, analytics, and transmission reporting for multi-site operations.

Outcomes

Deploying signaragflow gives venues stable per-location TV URLs that survive schedule changes without reconfiguring screens. Displays stay within roughly 12 seconds of the live edge with no loop restarts or re-download glitches at video boundaries. One console can push chain-wide or site-specific campaigns — proven in production with supermarket end users such as SPAR — while CDN-cached segments reduce repeat bandwidth across the network.
